Every single antenna in our community is a fundamental building block to ensure low-altitude radar coverage and multilateration (MLAT) network synchronization in Italy and across Europe. To help all feeders keep their station active and performing at its best, ADSBItalia is launching today the new free Disconnection Email Notification system.

Why monitor the status of your Feeder?

Anyone running an SDR receiver connected to a Raspberry Pi, mini PC, or Docker container knows that unexpected issues can happen: a power blackout, a micro-interruption of the USB power supply, a disconnected network cable, or an unexpected restart of the readsb or dump1090 decoder. Often, the issue is only noticed after days, resulting in lost flight statistics and reduced radar redundancy in your area.

"With ADSBItalia's new alert system, you are notified via email as soon as your station stops transmitting Mode-S packets or MLAT data, allowing you to restore reception in just a few minutes."

How It Works: Zero Registrations, Just 1 Click

We designed the system with maximum focus on ease of use and privacy. There is no need to create an account or remember complex passwords:

  • Automatic Local Network Recognition: When you open the status page from your PC or smartphone browser connected to the same Wi-Fi as the feeder, the system instantly recognizes your node by matching the public IP.
  • Continuous 24/7 Heartbeat: ADSBItalia servers constantly monitor the packet stream. If no data is recorded for over 20 continuous minutes, an alert is triggered.
  • Secure Double Opt-in: By entering your email address, you will receive an instant verification link to confirm that you are the actual owner of the station.
  • Instant Unsubscribe: At the bottom of each email, there is a link to deactivate or pause alerts at any time with a single click.

How to Enable Notifications on Your Station

  1. Open the status page: From a device connected to the same internet connection (Wi-Fi or LAN) as your receiver, visit the Feed Status page (adsbitalia.it/en/status.html).
  2. Identify your receiver: The screen will display a box at the top: "Station detected from your local network: [Feeder Name]". Click on the 🔔 Offline Notifications button.
  3. Enter your email and confirm: Type your address and press "Activate Notifications". You will receive an email with a confirmation link; open it to activate monitoring.
💡 Total Compatibility: The service works with any installation setup: classic ADSBItalia scripts, Docker/Ultrafeeder containers, and standalone systems like ADSB.im.
